Contenido :  La cuantificación del secuestro de carbono de los agroecosistemas es un gran desafío global. El presente artículo describe el proceso de secuestro de carbono en el suelo y analiza las principales prácticas agronómicas para aumentar su almacenaje en nuestras condiciones. Asimismo, plantea el desafío al que se enfrenta el país de mejorar los inventarios nacionales para cumplir con los compromisos asumidos en acuerdos internacionales.
